Don Piper Comes to Scott City
The Scott County Ministerial Alliance is bringing motivational speaker Don Piper to Scott City on 9 April 2010. The event will be held in the Scott Community High School gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Piper is the author of "90 Minutes in Heaven", a recount of his personal experience.

Christmas Miracle in Scott City!
(This was written by someone unknown to me from the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church. It was circulated in an e-mail and I wanted to share this touching story with all of you. Yes, God does answer our prayers in awesome ways sometimes...)
Wednesday night after classes, those involved in the Christmas Choir were having practice. Beverly says, "I wish we had enough money to just buy a bunch of poinsettas to decorate the Church for Christmas." and everyone agreed.
Not FIVE minutes later, a gentleman walks into the Church. Brother Robert stops practice and asks if he could help him. The man, a truckdriver, asks if they would like some poinsettas. He is asked how much he wants for them. He replies nothing but I need you to take all of them. Turns out he was delivering poinsettas to different stores and was on his way to a Wal-Mart in Oklahoma when his boss called and said that they got a shipment from somewhere else and he needed to dump his load...didn't care how just get rid of them. So he decided that he would look for a church (a Southern Baptist Church) and see if they wanted them and that is when he saw our steeple and then the name of the church and then cars.
God answered Beverly 's prayer in FIVE minutes!!!! Isn't that just the most awesome thing!!!! Oh, by the way he gave us over 200 poinsettas. I took some pictures of the sanctuary adorned with poinsettas...but it really doesn't do it justice!!!! Isn't God AWESOME!!!!! 12.12.08
