KJIL Presents Concert for New Radio Station

KJIL and Great Plains Christian Radio are bringing Jaime Jorge to Scott City on December 4th for a Christmas concert!  Please follow the links I have provided to read their letter about fundraising efforts for a new full-powered KJIL radio station to be placed in Scott City, as well as the promotional flyer for the concert.  Please spread the word to your friends and neighbors about the wonderful effort to bring this station to our town!!!

KJIL Wants to Place Full-Power Radio Station in Scott City

Great Plains Christian Radio needs our help as a community to fund a 25,000 watt radio station in Scott City.  We have received $3694.41 toward the Scott City project to this date.  This is a project I am personally very interested in.  Will you help me contact our local churches and businesses about this possibility?  There are about 30 months left before KJIL will lose the oppotunity to place this station in Scott City.  Boise City, Oklahoma raised money for a similar project in about two months!  Please send me some feedback.                                      4.24.09

The following is an e-mail from KJIL General Manager Don Hughes:

"The Federal Communications commission has give Great Plains Christian Radio (KJIL) permission to put a 25,000 watt station on the air in Scott City. Currently they operation a 190 watt stations at 91.9 which is referred to as a translator. This low power translator is not guaranteed and could be bumped off the air by another full-power station. The new station would be a licensed full power station and will be heard over a wide area as indicated by the higher power. It will cost about $150,000 to build this new station. Donations can be made to Great Plains Christian Radio at Box 991, Meade, KS 67864. Donations are tax deductible. The FCC has given Great Plains Christian Radio a limited time to get the station on the air or lose the opportunity. At the present time about $16500 has been donated to the project."

Adam R. Winter, DDS, Opens New Dental Clinic

Adam R. Winter, DDS, has opened his new clinic, Winter Family Dentistry, in Scott City as of the end of January 2008.  Adam and his wife, Elisha, are providing total dental care for this community.  The Winters have made an investment in the people of Scott City, renovating the Dixon Cycle Center building into a state-of-the-art dental care facility.  Featuring digital X-ray technology, a patient can have dental X-rays taken and view them from the comfort of their chair immediately.  This new technology exposes the patient to a very small amount of X-ray in comparison to older dental X-ray equipment.  This new clinic also features a panoramic X-ray, in addition to beautiful new modular equipment and a fully-equipped dental laboratory. 

Adam is a 2006 graduate of the school of dentistry at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and a 1998 graduate of Scott Community High School.  He  practiced in Great Bend before making the decision to return to his home town and open this excellent new clinic.  This is a tremendous opportunity for the citizens of Scott City to receive their dental care from one of their own in a brand-new top-notch facility.  Congratulations to Winter Family Dentistry!                                                                                                                                                                                    2.18.07
