Anne Lampe Presides

Anne Lampe is now the national President of the American Angus Auxiliary.  Anne has worked long and hard to promote the Angus breed.  She and her family raise registered Angus cattle here in Scott County, continuing her long experience from childhood.  The Kansas Angus Association is very familiar with her efforts, since she serves as their publicist and field secretary.  Congratulations to Anne on this outstanding honor from the largest cattle breed association!

AgriBusiness Makes Generous Donations

Our community and local students have benefitted greatly this year due to generous donations from both Monsanto and Pfizer.  Both companies are involved in supporting agricultural communities through programs which return part of their profits back to the stomping grounds of their customers.  scottcity.info thanks both of these agri-giants for their generosity to the students of the Scott City school district.

Monsanto

Monsanto's "America's Farmers Grow Communities" program recently awarded $2500 to the Scott Community High School Vocal Music Department.  Choral Director Amy Norris accepted the check from Monsanto representative Chris Irwin on behalf of her students.  The monies were put to use in the purchase of stage risers which will enable the vocal, band, and drama students of SCHS in their excellent performances.  The SCHS Vocal Music Department was nominated for the award by Monsanto customers Bill and Marian Nolan.  (Photo below:  Left to Right-SCHS Principal Shelly Turner, Marian and Bill Nolan, Monsanto Rep Chris Irwin, and SCHS Choral Director Amy Norris and her mixed Concert Choir.

Pfizer

Veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturer Pfizer also helped out SCHS by donating $5000 to the Scott City FFA Chapter.  The award was supported by local Pfizer distributors Dr. Charles Sourk of Sourk Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Corbin Stevens, Dr. Dale Holterman of Holterman Veterinary Clinic, and Lextron
